Obituary For William Stephan Paltz

Madison-William "Steve" Paltz, age 67, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2015.

Steve was born in Madison on March 8, 1948 to William and Lorraine Paltz. He attended grade school at St. James in Madison and graduated from Madison Central High School in 1967. He was very proud of being a Central Downtowner. Steve worked for the Madison School District for many years before retiring. In his free time, Steve enjoyed sports, cars, NASCAR, and rare collections. But his pride and passion was his family. Steve is remembered fondly as a devoted son, brother and uncle. He spent most of the Sundays in his life having dinner, surrounded by family. His values were always aligned by his strong family commitment. Steve had a very big heart, and at the end of his life, it was his big heart that finally succumbed to God's will.

Steve is survived by his sister Rita (James) Drifke of Stoughton, brother David (Frances) of Madison, his Aunt Kathleen Mader, brother-in-law William Olson and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, William and Lorraine Paltz, his sister Carolyn Olson, Uncles Carroll and Harold Paltz, Uncle George Mader, Uncle Harley Burnson, Aunts Jacqueline and Lillian Paltz, Aunt Greta Thornell, Aunt Elaine Kaltenberg, and his nephew Anthony "Tony" Paltz.

A private Mass of Christian Burial was held on Tuesday July 7, 2015 at ST. PATRICK'S CATHOLIC CHURCH in Madison with Monsignor Kevin Holmes presiding. He was buried at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.

what our families say

Tiffany Foster went out of her way to fulfill all my requests, talked me through problems I was facing, and tried to make me feel as comfortable as possible when I was a wreck, totally crushed, and I thank her with all of my heart for that.

James S. | July 2020

The professional manner of the staff made a difficult time a little easier.

Lynda R. | July 2020

Services provided for both parents were perfect, on time, and no issues. Brenda is awesome and strong!

Skyler was absolutely amazing. She was so caring and helpful through this whole process. She even went above and beyond to meet with us in DeForest and even to make a stop at our home to drop off or pick up anything needed. While it was a small gesture, it was so helpful and greatly appreciated.
