Bill cherished being together with family, playing cards and enjoying his family by the pool. Bill taught swim lessons to 100’s of kids over the years. Bill continued his love of sports through watching his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events. He also enjoyed working out at the Prairie Athletic Club.

Bill deserves to have his untarnished legacy live on. We encourage you all to take a piece of Bill and shine his light through you. He was stoic, a great role model, servant leader, gentle giant, a man of strong character, was always GREAT, a fierce competitor, had a dry sense of humor, a family man, positive and strong

So many great memories of Bill - Bringing our kids out to the pool to develop their strokes under his positive, encouraging guidance - Playing basketball at PAC at 5 am, watching him dominate the lane both offensively and defensively and then throwing up a 3 every once in a while - Working with him at the food pantry and chatting about his latest trip across the country to watch kids/grandkids sporting events - Seeing him in the front row of high school basketball game holding court with so many people walking by. - Chatting with him about his latest surgery to fix his worn-out body, never once hearing him complain about the aches and pains. Thank you for sharing this gentle giant with us all these years. May he now rest in peace. John Andres

Bill: Enjoyed playing Football with you at the good old East Side High. You were the entire line. East Higher's are proud you went on to play as a Badger. Thanks for your service to the community at Sunshine Place. You served as a great mentor to youth and family. We sure had some great times playing golf in Palm Springs and here at home at the Oaks. Hope we can meet again in a higher world. Make some tee times. Your golf buddy. Joe Krzos

Mr. Maselter always holds fond gym class memories for me. He knew how to get us all excited and involved that even now, looking back, preschool and kindergarten gym was always looked forward to and exciting. Always fun and friendly. We all had football nicknames. He planned the best activites. Rest in peace. Enjoy the endless football games. With love, "DeLap-er"

I remember being in 2nd or 3rd grade in the Lodi elementary school (must have been 1995ish) eating pizza bagels at lunch and Mr. Maselter walking around the lunch room/gym talking to all of the kids. I do remember the red shirt and a whistle around his neck. So friendly and kind. He was a literal giant to us kids. Even 25+ years later I remember his football stories and his kindness to others. That's a life well lived. He probably wouldn't remember me, being one of 1,000s of students over the years, but I do remember him. He's one of the few teachers/staff I do remember. My condolences to his family and loved ones.

One of my fond High school memories was participating in phy ed with Mr Maselter. He always had that "larger than life" persona. I don't ever recall him needing to raise his voice to someone misbehaving, his presence and low key demeanor was all he needed to lead by. If you happen to have some photos of him while he was in uniform could you possibly make them available? My sincerest condolences to the family. Randy Swalheim, class of 76.

what our families say

Tiffany Foster went out of her way to fulfill all my requests, talked me through problems I was facing, and tried to make me feel as comfortable as possible when I was a wreck, totally crushed, and I thank her with all of my heart for that.

Lynda R. | July 2020

Skyler was absolutely amazing. She was so caring and helpful through this whole process. She even went above and beyond to meet with us in DeForest and even to make a stop at our home to drop off or pick up anything needed. While it was a small gesture, it was so helpful and greatly appreciated.
