Obituary For William "Bill" E. Bennett

Arlington – William E. “Bill” Bennett, age 71, passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison, from cancer. He was born on July 11, 1953, the son of William R. Bennett and Marie (Rossing) Bennett. After graduation from high school, Bill enlisted in the Marine Corp. He served the in the U.S. Marines from 1972 to 1974. Bill was a radio-telephone operator and was honorably discharged in 1978.

Bill worked at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison for 35 years as a boiler operator then maintenance department. He loved fishing, hunting, snowmobiling and outdoor activities. He coached little league baseball for many years and was involved in all sports of his children.

Bill is survived by his wife, Linda (Zins) Bennett; sons, Jessie Bennett and Eric Bennett; stepsons, Andy, Ryan and Richard; grandchildren, Cayden, Sydney, Ryan, Dillion, Myra and Mila; sisters, Sharon Crook and Connie (Terry) Mindum; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Marie Bennett; sisters, Debra Bennett and Cindy Buttris Bennett; and brother-in-law, Joe Crook.

A celebration of life for Bill will be held at a later date.
