Obituary For Werner Emil Stoller

MADISON/BLANCHARDVILLE – Werner Emil Stoller, age 89, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Friday, March 9, 2018. Werner was born on August 8, 1928 in Blanchardville, WI, to Swiss immigrants and cheesemakers, Fred Sr. and Kathrine Stoller. He attended Blanchardville High School where he enjoyed playing football. After school he enlisted in the United States Army, where he served two years and was honorably discharged. Werner returned and started working at Oscar Mayer, retiring after 42 years. In his retirement he enjoyed working at the Speedway gas station on Sherman Avenue. He was a 28 year member of the American Legion WI Post #481. Werner was an avid golfer, bowler, and enjoyed bartending in his younger years. He also enjoyed limburger cheese, kalberwurst, squirrel hunting, and most of all Bud Light.

Werner is survived by his daughter Suzanne (Erik) Dalma (Stoller); grandchildren, Brie (Ryan) Peterson, Andrew (Rachel) Krimmer, Sofia and Camille Dalma; 5 great grandchildren, Kalise, Owen, Hailee, Jonathan, and Adeline; beloved niece, Jenine Marty. Further survived by four generations of nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his fur friends Mutt and Jeff. He is preceded in death by his siblings, Fred Jr (Orpha), Freda (Harold) Johnson, Ruth (John) Wegmueller, Hans “Hansie”, and Louise Simpson.

A funeral service and full military honors will be held at 7PM on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 2418 North Sherman Avenue, Madison. A visitation will be held from 5PM until time of services on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial at Graceland Cemetery in Blanchardville.

A special thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff of 5SW at St. Mary’s Hospital, Madison for taking such good care of Werner the last couple of weeks.
