Obituary For Wayne "Todd" A. Voigt

Windsor – Wayne “Todd” Voigt, age 89, passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, October 23, 2024. A devoted husband and beloved father, grandfather, neighbor and friend, his absence from this world will be felt by all that knew him.

Wayne was born January 26, 1935 to Arno and Augusta Voigt. The youngest of four children, he was the apple of his sister’s eyes and was known for playing many a prank in his youth. He graduated from Sheboygan Central High School in 1953. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Navy, serving for 4 years as an electrician. Wayne married Romelle Mayer on April 12, 1958. They were married for 61 years. He was a dedicated husband who was the primary caregiver to Romelle following her stroke until her passing in 2019. He missed her dearly after her passing and we know he is glad to be back by her side.

With a great wit and a keen sense of humor, Wayne was always there to share his advice, guidance and Dad jokes long before they were cool. An avid sportsman, he had a passion for hunting and fishing. After a 35 year career at AT&T he pursued his dream and became a charter captain, running a private charter service on Lake Michigan from his own boat for over a decade. He was a member of the Little Willow Hunting Club for over 60 years. In recent years, Wayne enjoyed spending his free time at Bristol Gun Club, serving as an RSO for many years. Like many true Wisconsinites he was a loyal Packer, Badger and Brewer fan and looked forward to watching games.

Wayne is survived by his 3 children, Kelly (John Shaw) Voigt, Carlene (Al) Boehmer, and Tim (Julie) Voigt; and grandchildren, Taylor, Devin, Logan and Joel.

He was preceded in death by his wife Romelle “Romy”; parents, Arno and Augusta Voigt; and siblings, Delores, Enid and Carlton “Sonny”.

A special thanks to Agrace Hospice and Todd’s Home Instead Team; Tatiana, Roberto and Trica. You helped make his last few months comfortable.

A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Pheasants Forever. To view and sign this guestbook, please visit: www.ryanfuneralservice.com.

As the patriarch of the hunting club, Todd always an opinion on a subject. Ah the stories he would tell of hunts in the northwoods. Camp wont be the same without him. He will be missed, but his presence will always be part of the club, cabin, and property.

It was a delight to have cared for Todd. He made caregiving easier with his frequent jokes and the overall care he showed for his family and the caregivers during the process. He is dearly missed. My deepest condolences to the Voigt Family. Be encouraged, and reflect on the memories you shared with Todd. Trica

what our families say

Tiffany Foster went out of her way to fulfill all my requests, talked me through problems I was facing, and tried to make me feel as comfortable as possible when I was a wreck, totally crushed, and I thank her with all of my heart for that.

The professional manner of the staff made a difficult time a little easier.

Lynda R. | July 2020

Services provided for both parents were perfect, on time, and no issues. Brenda is awesome and strong!

Skyler was absolutely amazing. She was so caring and helpful through this whole process. She even went above and beyond to meet with us in DeForest and even to make a stop at our home to drop off or pick up anything needed. While it was a small gesture, it was so helpful and greatly appreciated.
