Obituary For Tadeusz Jaroszczyk

VERONA/STOUGHTON – Tadeusz Jaroszczyk, age 84, duty ended on Saturday, July 22, 2023. Tad was born on December 10, 1938 in Grezow, Poland to Alekasander and Zofia(Trojanek) Jaroszczyk. His first few years of his life were spent hiding in the wooded area during the Second World War. Early in life he resigned to a military lifestyle, joining the Polish Army which led him to the Military Academy (WAT) in Warsaw. Tad received a PhD in mechanical engineering and later taught at WAT. Tad met the love of his life Dorota Pieczara on a Tuesday in 1960 and was married three days later. Looking for better prospects, he and his family relocated to the United States in 1981. The language barrier motivated him to master the English language which allowed him to start his career at Nelson Industries, later Cummins, as an expert in air filtration. Later in life, Tad filed and held multiple patents in air filtration and was a known international speaker.

Tad enjoyed spending time outside, was an avid reader, loved political debates with anyone willing partake, classical music, watching history documentaries, hiking, and traveling. He was generous beyond measure and would do anything to support his family.

Tad is survived by his wife of 63 years, Dorota; son, Tomasz (Lisa Littel); grandchildren, Malina, Leo, and Victoria Price; and brother, Stefan (Elzbieta). He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Tad is preceded in death by his children, Malgorzata and Jaroslaw; and siblings, Alekasander, Stasiek, and Andrzej.

A private family service will be held.

Tad was a colleague, mentor, and friend. He mentored a whole generation of filtration experts. He was a man of integrity, unafraid to speak what he believed. Traveling with him in the Netherlands around 1985 at the height of the Cold War, he stopped at a bar filled with Dutch socialists who wanted to adopt a Russian style of government. Tad, politely told them how naive (studpid) they were. It started a heated discussion that lasted much of the night. Tad against a bar full of upset Dutch socialists. Don't think anyone changed their mind, but they parted friends. Even after this, Tad showed up on time for the first technical session the next day. He often used humor and stories to defuse tense situations. I still use some of his stories to make a point. I will miss our conversations and advice. Tad and his family are in our prayers.

My deepest sympathy to Dorthy and family. I was one of the first Americans to greet Tad and family when they got to Nelson Industries. We had some great polish dinners and vodka together . I will dearly miss him. Mike Diederich

My condolences to Tad's family on the loss of one of the most significant colleagues I worked with in my role at Nelson/Cummins. Tad never tired of imparting his technical expertise and insight (and opinions!) into our interactions with WUT and the CMIfiltration team. - Kathryn DeFore

I offer my deepest condolences to the Jaroszczyk family. Dorota and Tadeusz were dear friends of my Grandma Irene and took great pleasure in celebrating their mutual Polish heritage. Tadeusz, who was my godparent, always commemorated my achievements and important moments in life. I am truly sorry for the family's loss and hope that they find comfort in their memories of Tadeusz.

Do widzenia Tad, The world will miss you Colonel. I was lucky enough to work with Tad at Nelson/Cummins. We traveled together to Poland, Korea and other place around the globe several times. Tad always brought joy to any occasion whether it was for work or leisure. I might not have always agreed with Tad, but he always let know where he stood and invited me to the conversation and listen respectfully. That way a good lesson for me. My greatest sympathy goes out to Dorothy and Thomas and family. With Love, Mike Connor

I met Tadeusz Jaroszczyk in 2001 during a filtration conference in Karlsruhe. Tad was the initiator of scientific research between my research team at Warsaw University of Technology and Cummins Filtration, extended to technological cooperation with Microspun Products. Thanks to this, our filtration laboratory at WUT has been enriched with important research equipment. We have developed a new research topic on coalescence processes. Original patent solutions and coalescer production technology were developed. Tad was the spiritus movens of these works. He will remain in our grateful memory. Rest in peace Tad. My deepest condolences to Dorota and Tomasz. Leon Gradon with Family

what our families say

Tiffany Foster went out of her way to fulfill all my requests, talked me through problems I was facing, and tried to make me feel as comfortable as possible when I was a wreck, totally crushed, and I thank her with all of my heart for that.

James S. | July 2020

The professional manner of the staff made a difficult time a little easier.

Lynda R. | July 2020

Services provided for both parents were perfect, on time, and no issues. Brenda is awesome and strong!

Michael M. | July 2020

Skyler was absolutely amazing. She was so caring and helpful through this whole process. She even went above and beyond to meet with us in DeForest and even to make a stop at our home to drop off or pick up anything needed. While it was a small gesture, it was so helpful and greatly appreciated.
