Obituary For Steven "Bart" Bartholomew

MADISON – Steven “Bart” Bartholomew, age 80, passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on February 4, 2023. He was born in Madison, WI on July 5, 1942 to parents Francis and Evelyn (Lang) Bartholomew. Bart was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and he was a Telecommunications Specialist throughout his work career.

Survived by his wife and best friend of 57 years, Cindy Moen Bartholomew; daughters, Jaimi Bartholomew-Clementi, Jodi Bartholomew, and Jenifer (John) Goane; 15 grandchildren, Cassi, Sam, Tyler, Estevan, Randy, Justin, Alexis, Laura, Kevin, Zachery, Tj, Caitlyn, Jenna, John, Joshua; and many great-grandchildren and innumerable family and life long friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, Francis "Bud" and Evelyn (Lang) Bartholomew; 2 brothers, Paul and Bruce; a sister, Fran Peterson, and his granddaughter, Jenna Lily who provides a direct link to heaven for all who proceed her.

To say the least Bart loved life. He was an amazing husband, father, gramps and best friend to all who knew him. He was an avid hunter and gardener, a bookworm, a singer and a straight up "Badass". His beloved dogs Duster and Buck are actively seeking a therapist.

Memorials may be made to the family to be donated in Bart's name to charities near to his heart. Donations may be mailed to Cynthia Bartholomew, 1840 Baird Street Madison, WI 53713.

The family would like to thank Dr. Lawrence Ozers at SSM Health and the wonderful staff at Agrace Hospice.

I'm so saddened for your loss. He was a great man. One of my fondest memories of Steve is when he caught us eating salt. He didn't say anything just took the salt shaker and locked it up in the bedroom. It still makes me giggle today thinking about it. Little did we know how bad it really was for us. Prayers, love and hugs being sent your way. Edie La Savage

what our families say

Tiffany Foster went out of her way to fulfill all my requests, talked me through problems I was facing, and tried to make me feel as comfortable as possible when I was a wreck, totally crushed, and I thank her with all of my heart for that.

The professional manner of the staff made a difficult time a little easier.

Lynda R. | July 2020

Services provided for both parents were perfect, on time, and no issues. Brenda is awesome and strong!

Skyler was absolutely amazing. She was so caring and helpful through this whole process. She even went above and beyond to meet with us in DeForest and even to make a stop at our home to drop off or pick up anything needed. While it was a small gesture, it was so helpful and greatly appreciated.
