Obituary For Steve F. Konrad

Madison - Steve F. Konrad, age 91, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 16, 2024. He was born on November 8, 1932, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of John and Anna (Straub) Konrad. Steve served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955. Steve married Corinne Muller on June 13, 1953, in Chicago. Together, he and Corinne enjoyed almost 71 years of marriage.

Steve had many interests. He was a lifelong golfer (who celebrated his first hole in one at the age of 65!). With his brothers and close friends, Steve spent many happy years playing handball, and achieved a 2nd degree black belt in Judo. Steve also loved horseback riding, fishing, and was a skilled craftsman. Above all, Steve loved spending time with family and friends, and he will be greatly missed.

Steve is survived by: his wife, Corinne Konrad; his children, Glen (Kathy) Konrad, Gloria (Michael Cygan) Konrad, and Lee (Marilyn Fruth) Konrad; grandchildren, Brian (Suzanne) Konrad, Lori (Jason Stoddard) Schmidt, Adriana (Luis Jorge Contreras Guzman) Konrad, Michaela Konrad and Olivia Cygan; great grandchildren, Caitlin, Elena, Alex, Ben and Zamar; and, other family and friends.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers John and Otto.

A celebration of Steve’s life will be held at a later date.

To say Uncle Steve is a bright light is an understatement. Always smiling, always happy, joyful, and funny. He loves his family and connects with everyone in the room. My mother always said he was her favorite and I can certainly understand why. Sad to see you leave this earthly place, however I know that you're with your brothers and your mom and dad and all is just perfect, enjoy playing judo with your brothers. Love you Uncle Steve. 🥰🩷. You're quite a guy!

what our families say

Tiffany Foster went out of her way to fulfill all my requests, talked me through problems I was facing, and tried to make me feel as comfortable as possible when I was a wreck, totally crushed, and I thank her with all of my heart for that.

The professional manner of the staff made a difficult time a little easier.

Lynda R. | July 2020

Services provided for both parents were perfect, on time, and no issues. Brenda is awesome and strong!

Michael M. | July 2020

Skyler was absolutely amazing. She was so caring and helpful through this whole process. She even went above and beyond to meet with us in DeForest and even to make a stop at our home to drop off or pick up anything needed. While it was a small gesture, it was so helpful and greatly appreciated.
