Obituaries

DeForest - Roger W. Timm Sr., age 82, passed away at home on Wednesday, May 25, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 12, 1934, in rural DeForest, the son of Albert and Anna (Severson) Timm. He graduated from DeForest High School. Roger served in the Army during the Korean War. He married Nancy Schultz in 1957, and had 3 children: Roger (Pam) Timm Jr., Cathy Timm Lochner, and Daniel Timm. He was a heavy equipment operator with Melvin Paulson and Karow Bros. for many years, and retired in 2014. Roger met and married Yvonne Caryol Femrite Horstmeyer in 1996.

He is survived by his wife Yvonne; three children; two step-sons, Robert L. (Ann) Horstmeyer, and William F. Horstmeyer; 8 grandchildren: Joshua Timm, Jacob Timm, Joel Timm, Travis Lochner, Troy Lochner, Kyla Timm, Jacinda Timm and Bryce Timm; 1 great granddaughter, Shay Timm; 5 step-grandchildren; 2 step-great grandchildren; sister, Betty Ann (Timm) Rizk and nieces and nephews .

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Myron "Mike" Timm.

Roger was always busy helping his family and friends and in his spare time he enjoyed doing woodworking and keeping a beautiful yard. He was a kind, pleasant man, loved by many.

A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, June 4th, 2016 at CHRISTIAN FAITH MORAVIAN CHURCH, 805 E. Holum Street, DeForest with Pastor Staci Marrese - Wheeler presiding. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will follow at Moravian Cemetery, DeForest.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Roger's name to Agrace HospiceCare, 5395 E. Cheryl Parkway, Fitchburg, WI 53711. Their kindness and support is forever appreciated.

A father is a blessing, Gentle, kind and wise, He gives encouragement, The last to criticize. He will always be there to lend a helping hand, The last to turn away.
