Obituary For Raymond M. Hellenbrand
Madison – Raymond “Ray” M. Hellenbrand, age 93, passed away on Monday, January 29, 2024 at his home in Madison. He was born at the family home in Westport, Wisconsin on May 22, 1930, the son of John and Gertrude (Frederick) Hellenbrand. Ray served his country in the United States Army. For many years, he worked with his father and brothers on the family farm. After his time on the farm, Ray went to work for Carl F. Statz & Sons and then the Central Wisconsin Center as a custodian and would remain there until his retirement after 29 years. Ray was married to Mary Ann Hellenbrand at St. Bernard Catholic Church in 1991. He was an avid Badger and Packer fan. He enjoyed attending sporting events especially those of the grandkids and great grandkids where he was often the unofficial score keeper for those games. Ray was a member of the Waunakee American Legion for over 40 years.
Ray is survived by his step children, Donna Huemmer, John “JK’’ (Tammy) Huemmer and Paul (Connie) Huemmer; grandchildren, Whitney (Joey) Rosas, John (Kate) Weston, Gary (Katy Phi) Weston, Karl (Liz) Huemmer, Cody Huemmer and Katelyn Huemmer; great-grandchildren, Ace Rosas, Jax Rosas, Kallie Weston, Ella Weston and Andi Huemmer; siblings, Jack (Colleen) Hellenbrand, Doris (Don) Schneider and Darlene (Dick) Miller; sister-in-law, Florence Hellenbrand; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Gertrude; his first wife, Bev; his second wife, Mary Ann, step daughter, Julie (Alan) Weston; grandson, Michael Huemmer; and brothers, Jim Hellenbrand, Don (Evie) Hellenbrand and Jerome (Tootie) Hellenbrand; and nephew, Rod Hellenbrand.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at ST. BERNARD CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2450 Atwood Ave, Madison, with Msgr. Duane Moellenberndt presiding. A visitation will take place from 9:30am until the time of service. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. A livestream of the service will be available on the church’s website at sbmsn.org.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Ray’s name to Agrace Hospice.
