Obituary For Peggy M. Scott

Peggy M. Scott died on October 15, 2023 at home with the support of her family listening to Pink Floyd. She was born in New London, Wisconsin on October 20, 1953. She was a resident of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin through high school and a resident of Madison since 1975.

She is survived by her daughter Sophia, son Sean, sister Mary Scott, and three nieces Amy Scott, Zoe Scott and Kris Scott. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elaine Yohann Scott and Eugene Michael Scott, brothers Michael and Thomas E. Scott, sister Ann Padzuikas, nephew Thomas J. Scott and niece Toni Padzuikas.

Peggy retired from her position at the UW Madison in 2002. She enjoyed nature, pets, classic movies, her children, and crystals.

The family would like to especially thank all of the wonderful doctors, nurses, social workers and staff at the UW Hospital Transplant Department and Clinics. As well as Heartland Hospice for supporting her during her final days.

A special thank you to the 2 organ donor families. The transplants meant so much to her and her family. The family will eternally be grateful for their generosity.

A private memorial service will be planned for her immediate family. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made in her honor to The Dane County Humane Society or Olbrich Gardens.

Peggy was like a mother to me throughout my high school years and in my early 20s. She was a very kind and gentle soul. I am thankful that she took me under her care during that time - never judging my flaws. My deepest condolences to her family. - Helen Coggin

what our families say

Tiffany Foster went out of her way to fulfill all my requests, talked me through problems I was facing, and tried to make me feel as comfortable as possible when I was a wreck, totally crushed, and I thank her with all of my heart for that.

James S. | July 2020

The professional manner of the staff made a difficult time a little easier.

Lynda R. | July 2020

Services provided for both parents were perfect, on time, and no issues. Brenda is awesome and strong!

Skyler was absolutely amazing. She was so caring and helpful through this whole process. She even went above and beyond to meet with us in DeForest and even to make a stop at our home to drop off or pick up anything needed. While it was a small gesture, it was so helpful and greatly appreciated.
