Obituary For Patricia "Patti" Louise Doyle
Madison, WI- Patricia “Patti” L. Doyle (Poster), passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2023 surrounded by family after a brief illness. She was just short of her 81st Birthday.
She was born in Madison, to Frieda and Lewis Poster and was raised by her beloved Aunt and Uncle, Dottie and Elmer Cripps from birth in their farm in York Center. The farm provided a delightful place for her to grow up. She loved to reminisce about adventures with her dog Queenie and many other farm events and chores. They later moved to Sun Prairie where she graduated from Sun Prairie High School in 1960. She loved playing her saxophone in the school band and entertaining family and friends with her accordion at the family cottage in Lake Wisconsin. She was an avid gardener and loved flowers, often surprising family members with bouquets. She loved decorating her home and yard. Christmas was her specialty. She painstakingly would place every light and ornament in just the right spot on the Christmas Trees that were throughout her home. She was very generous with her extended family, always looking forward to planning the next get together, especially wedding and baby showers.
She was employed at the Madison Veterans Hospital for over twenty-five years, retiring in 2016. She was tirelessly devoted to serving the veterans she encountered every day.
She is survived by her former spouse John Doyle, the father of her children, Patricia (Mark) Fritz, John (Lori) and Mary; grandsons, Emerson (Mallory) Fritz, and Patrick Fritz; Great Granddaughter Brooklynn Fritz; and many special cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frieda and Lewis Poster and Dottie and Elmer Cripps; her siblings, Lois Smith, Lewis Poster, Mary Ann Konkel and Lucille Vick and her beloved Schnauzer Lucy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Monday, April 10, 2023 at ST. BERNARD CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2450 Atwood Ave, Madison, with her cousin, Father Jay Poster presiding.
