Norman married Marlene (Molly) Johnson on July 18, 1959, at St. Mary’s of the Lake in Westport. Norm was drafted into the service and stationed at El Paso Texas and honorably discharged September 26, 1966. After serving his years for the United States he returned to Wisconsin and was employed by Mendota State Hospital. After retiring from the Mendota Power Plant, Norm and Molly wintered in Hot Springs Village Arkansas, where they made many life-long friends from many states and countries. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, softball, skiing, vacationing, playing cards, gardening, eating out and kidding around. He was never afraid to try something new and always had great stories to tell about the adventure.

Norm is survived by his brother Gene Kirley of Fitchburg, ten nieces and nephews, many great nieces and nephews, special friends and care-takers Phil and Tammy Anastasi and several close friends. Norm was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, his parents, his mother and father-in-law Elmer and Helen Johnson, his brother-in-law’s Jerry Johnson and Richard White, his sister-in-law’s Sharon Johnson, Beverly White, and Dawn Kirley. Norm’s sense of humor was enjoyed by all his family and friends. He was a loving husband, brother, uncle, mentor and friend. He will greatly be missed by all who have been touched by him.

I had many good times playing golf with Norm, his brother Gene and friend Marty. We had a lot of laughs and I have fond memories those outings. Rest in peace.

Norm was a cousin to my mother, so I have known Norm my hold life. I have many memories of Norm. I remember him playing baseball, going to his wedding to Molly, visiting them in Hot Springs Village, Ark. with my wife. Playing golf with him and Gene, Gene and I won money most of the time. I would call him and we would talk about The Badges, football and basketball. We would talk about the Brewers and the Packers. If those team would have listened to his advise, they would have won more games. Always had a few laughs and a lot of BS. He will be missed. RIP Norm!

what our families say

Tiffany Foster went out of her way to fulfill all my requests, talked me through problems I was facing, and tried to make me feel as comfortable as possible when I was a wreck, totally crushed, and I thank her with all of my heart for that.

Skyler was absolutely amazing. She was so caring and helpful through this whole process. She even went above and beyond to meet with us in DeForest and even to make a stop at our home to drop off or pick up anything needed. While it was a small gesture, it was so helpful and greatly appreciated.
