During his career, Neil worked for many years at Walgreens Distribution Center. He later worked for a courier service until his retirement. He enjoyed many hobbies throughout his life. He was an expert chair caner. He was mechanically inclined and could repair many things. He loved riding motorcycles. He earned the nickname, “One Wheel Neil” for his ability to do a mile-long wheelie. Neil was always musical. He taught himself to play guitar and was always strumming and singing funny songs. He loved spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, and especially four-wheeling with his grandson. He was also a gardener and a great chef. He loved hosting and cooking for his family and friends. He had a big heart and was loving to his family, and cherished his grandkids, Warren and Presley.

Neil will be dearly missed and will always be remembered for his kind, generous, strong-willed spirit and his hilarious, fun, light-hearted personality.

Neil is survived by his daughters, Brittney Buchner (Alex) and Briona Buchner (Brian Kopmeyer); grandchildren, Warren and Presley; siblings, Charlene (Dr. Rex) Flygt, Alan (Linda) Buchner, Lyle (Laurie) Buchner; sister-in-law and brothers-in-law, Bonnie Raemisch, Tim Raemisch, Mike (Darlene) Raemisch; many nieces and nephews and their families; and his special companion, his dog Star.

what our families say

Tiffany Foster went out of her way to fulfill all my requests, talked me through problems I was facing, and tried to make me feel as comfortable as possible when I was a wreck, totally crushed, and I thank her with all of my heart for that.

James S. | July 2020

The professional manner of the staff made a difficult time a little easier.

Lynda R. | July 2020

Services provided for both parents were perfect, on time, and no issues. Brenda is awesome and strong!

Michael M. | July 2020

Skyler was absolutely amazing. She was so caring and helpful through this whole process. She even went above and beyond to meet with us in DeForest and even to make a stop at our home to drop off or pick up anything needed. While it was a small gesture, it was so helpful and greatly appreciated.
