Obituary For Morgan Ann O’Flannigan

Morgan Ann O’Flannigan, age 83, passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2023, at Agrace Hospice Care in Fitchburg, WI. She was born on January 25, 1940, to Walter and Ethel (Cowell) Flannigan in Milwaukee, WI.

Morgan graduated from Waukegan HS in 1958 and married Robert C Sereno in 1960. She worked primarily in sales in a variety of industries and always had one (or more) side businesses going on involving upholstery and/or catering. She prided herself on her children - her motto for her them was, “If you can read about it, you can do it. Get moving!” Her sense of humor was sharp and on-point even at the end of life. She was fiercely independent, intelligent, determined, and quick witted. Morgan was a wonderful cook, innovative seamstress/upholsterer, avid reader, and spontaneous adventurer. She loved the snow and couldn’t wait to come back to the Midwest from Florida a decade ago to enjoy her favorite season. More than the snow, she loved animals – a love which she passed on to both of her children.

Morgan is survived by her daughter, Robin Sereno (Erica Lopez) who resides in Madison, WI; grandchildren Sierra Servi-Sereno, Maggie Colopy-Sereno and Ty Colopy-Sereno, her sister, Mary Saunders of St Cloud, Florida and brother, Charles Flannigan of Colorado Springs, CO as well as nieces, Margaret Sanders Morabito and Sandy Rodriguez and nephews Roy Sanders and Sean Flannigan and her beloved cat, Buddy.

She is preceded in death by her parents as well as her son, Robert “Bobby” Carl Sereno and her sister, Kathleen Flannigan and niece/Goddaughter, Barbara Sanders.

A burial will take place in Libertyville, IL on Friday, April 14, 2023, at Ascension Catholic Cemetery. It was her last wish to be buried next to her son.

what our families say

Tiffany Foster went out of her way to fulfill all my requests, talked me through problems I was facing, and tried to make me feel as comfortable as possible when I was a wreck, totally crushed, and I thank her with all of my heart for that.

Skyler was absolutely amazing. She was so caring and helpful through this whole process. She even went above and beyond to meet with us in DeForest and even to make a stop at our home to drop off or pick up anything needed. While it was a small gesture, it was so helpful and greatly appreciated.
