Obituary For Michael A Davis
Verona/South Wayne-Michael A. "Mike" Davis left his earthly burdens behind on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 due to his recent struggle with health issues. He passed serenely in the company of family.
He was born on May 12th, 1955 in Rockford, IL to John Edward Davis and Elizabeth "Betty " (Grosse) Davis, the youngest of five children.
Michael received his early education at Marquette Elementary in Madison, WI where he resided during his early years. From there he moved to Hanover, WI and graduated from Parkview High School in Orfordville, WI. Michael continued his education throughout his lifetime attending college, MATC & many technology courses.
He moved to Seattle, WA and owned and operated Davis Communications for several years. When he returned to Wisconsin he worked for the Wisconsin State Troopers 2-Way Radio Communications Division.
He was a gifted and skilled entrepreneur who also dedicated his time to volunteer his talents to set up various Madison Community Computer Labs. "Geeker Tweakers" and www.mikeysoft.com will be remembered by many as a professional who cared about his clients and their needs.
His quiet, gentle, unassuming way with people also brought nature and its creatures to him. They would gather with him at his favorite haunts and amazed all who had the privilege to witness these encounters.
He had incredible wit and a delightful, subtle, sense of humor that could go unnoticed only to be met with a twinkling eye and a warm smile. He was the type of person who made the best of everything and his struggles in life were a tribute to that philosophy.
Michael is survived by his son, Ian Demrow of Footville, WI; a sister, Susan (David) Blaney of Richland Center and Verona, WI; a brother, John Davis of Brantwood, WI; nephews, Jeremy (Shannon) Schultz of Boaz, WI, Randy Schultz, of Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada; and grandnephew Sam Hill and grandniece Jori Schultz also of Boaz, WI. He is further survived by many dear and special friends, including Pam Demrow of Janesville, WI and Charles Frutiger of Oregon, WI; and his beloved black lab, loyal & constant companion "Jack".
A Memorial Visitation will be held from 10AM until 12PM on Monday, November 23, 2015 at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 2418 N Sherman Ave, Madison.
A special thank you to UW Hospital and Clinics and especially Dr. Walter Longo for his wonderful care for over 40 years. Michael deeply trusted and valued you as his physician. We are very grateful, you helped give us many additional years with him. Also, a special thanks to the workers at Badger Prairie who tended to him.
Memorials can be made in Michael's honor to the UW Carbone Cancer Center, WORT Madison or the Humane Society.
