Madison – Mary L. Zogbaum, age 77, passed away on November 16, 2024, surrounded by her family at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison. She was a daughter, wife, mom, sister, grandma, great grandma, mother-in-law, and to all who met her, a friend. Born on February 25, 1947, in St. Louis, Missouri to parents Donald and Mildred (Holmberg) Severson.

Mary married Arthur B. Zogbaum on December 14, 1968, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Madison, and together they raised three children.

Mary loved being outdoors, spending time fishing, hunting, and camping. Her favorite place to camp was Blackhawk Lake in Highland, Wisconsin. When her son began hunting, she was inspired to take up hunting too, and she always took pride in outfishing her husband, Art. She loved spending time with her family and friends on her front porch, and above all, she cherished her time with her grandchildren.

Although Mary battled cancer for several years, she never complained. She will always be remembered for her strength and grace, and she will be dearly missed.

Mary is survived by her husband of 55 years Art “Butch”; son Randy (Jenny Erickson); grandchildren Vanessa (Dylan Timsit), Chimera, Dane, Jackson, and Jonah; great grandchild Arlo Timsit; her siblings Karen (Allen), Barb, and David; and lots of family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Lynn; son Dale; brother Jim; and her in-laws Arthur and Lorna Zogbaum.

A special thank you to the entire staff at St. Mary’s Hospital and to home health united; and a special thanks to her neighbor and caregiver Sharon Wiganowsky.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
