MADISON-Marjorie Doris D'Amour "Margie", age 85, was taken into the loving arms of her savior, on Thursday October 5, 2017, at Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg,WI.

She was born on May 2, 1932, in Stoughton, WI to Emil and Frances Thrun. She was baptized and confirmed in McFarland, WI and was a member of the McFarland Lutheran Church. Later, she became a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Madison, WI. She graduated from Stoughton High School in 1950. She was employed by Eagle Foods in the meat dept for 27 years. Marjorie married the love of her life, Charles D'Amour, in 1972.

She reveled in the beauty of her own home and environment, spending most of her free time in her yard creating a spectacle of beauty for everyone to see.

She will always be remembered for her hard work ethic that she passed onto all who surrounded her.

The greatest joy of her life was spending time with her daughter-in-law, Lori, and watching her grandchildren grow and prosper. We will all miss her wonderful passion for hospitality and food, especially her great holiday dinners.

Marjorie is survived by her son, Robert (Lori) Schaefer; brother, James (Lavon) Thrun and family; grandchildren, Jeremy (Leah), Benjamin (Stefanie), Jacob (Kelsey), and Angela (Chris); step-grandchildren, Austin Smith and Dillon "Shorty" Smith; and great-grandchildren, Kalee, Austin, Mason, Zaiden, Maddison, and Timothy.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles; parents; two brothers, Donald and Gordon Thrun; and two great-granddaughters, Esabella Rose and Hannah Hope Schaefer.

A funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. on Thursday October 12, 2017 at Burke Lutheran Church, 5720 Portage Road, Madison, WI. Pastor Robert Neubert officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 AM until the time of services. Luncheon immediately following services. Marjorie will be laid to rest at Roselawn Memorial Park in Monona,WI.

The family would like to thank all of her friends at Hair Majesty Beauty Salon for their many years of companionship. And Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg, WI for the excellent care she received in her final days.

what our families say

Tiffany Foster went out of her way to fulfill all my requests, talked me through problems I was facing, and tried to make me feel as comfortable as possible when I was a wreck, totally crushed, and I thank her with all of my heart for that.

Skyler was absolutely amazing. She was so caring and helpful through this whole process. She even went above and beyond to meet with us in DeForest and even to make a stop at our home to drop off or pick up anything needed. While it was a small gesture, it was so helpful and greatly appreciated.
