Obituary For Louise M. Johnson
MADISON - Louise M. Johnson (Bruce)
It is with incredible sadness that we announce the loss of our mom and grandma on Saturday, February 3rd, 2024, at the age of 86 years young.
Louise was born on October 11, 1937, in Herkimer, New York to Harold and Helen (March) Bruce.
Louise spent her early years in the Buffalo, NY area until she met her first husband and moved to South Central Wisconsin.
She was an active member of Bethel Lutheran Church of Madison for over 61 years and The Eagles’ Club for 38 years, where she was proud to have served a past term as Madam President of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Women’s Auxiliary #623.
Louise always looked forward to spending time with her family and cuddling her loving cat, Mickey. She enjoyed volunteering her time with the Eagles Club and Bethel Lutheran Church, many times helping to raise money for various causes. She always relished learning something new. She could put any spare time to use with crafting or reading.
She is survived by her children, Francis Baker, Christine “Christy", (Gerald "Jerry") Triggs, Robin Rupp, and Dawn Higgins; siblings Charlotte Jean Houle, Roger Foley, and David Bruce, her much-adored grandchildren, Charles "Chaz" Rupp, Casandra "Cass" (Jonathan Wessel) Rupp, Johnathon Triggs, Austin (Brittany) Triggs, Sara Triggs, Shannon, Jordan and Devin, her loving cat, Mickey and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Jim Bliss and Harry (Carol) Harwick; first and second husbands, John "Jack" Higgins and William "Bill" Johnson; her infant Baby Boy Higgins; son-in-law, Charles “Charlie” G. Rupp; and her cats, BabyDoll, Baby, Muffy and Charlie.
Louise was a very caring, sweet, kind, hard loving, forgiving, beautiful soul and we will miss her forever.
A Celebration of her Life with A Memorial from The Eagle’s Club will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at 11:00AM at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 2418 N. Sherman Ave, Madison. A visitation will be held from 10:00AM until time of services on Tuesday at the funeral home. The final resting place is at St. Paul Liberty Prairie Lutheran Cemetery, Deerfield. Her favorite color was red. In her honor, please join us in wearing something red that day.
