Obituary For Louis W. Voegeli

Arlington – Louis W. Voegeli, age 72, passed away on January 3, 2024, after a short battle with lung cancer at Meriter Hospital. He was born on May 4, 1951, in Madison, Wisconsin to parents John and Helen (Grinde) Voegeli.

Louis was a 1969 DeForest High School graduate. His career in truck driving was always based around agriculture and started as soon as he graduated high school. He married Debbie L. (Krueger) on February 21, 1976, in Green Bay, WI. He enjoyed farming and taking care of his own farm, deer hunting, and elk hunting and taking hunting trips out west with his good friend, Gary Ewald. Above all he loved his family and most of all loved being a grandpa.

Louis is survived by his wife of 48 years Debbie; his 2 children Tammy Voegeli (boyfriend Allyn Paulson) and their son Dakota; Colt (Nikki) Voegeli and their daughters Peyton and Hadley, and son Kelby. He is further survived by his nephews John and Robert, and niece Laura. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother John.

A special thank you to Sauk Prairie Healthcare ER and to Meriter Hospital 7th Floor ICU team.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family who will be giving to a charity at a later date.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Ryan Funeral Home, 6924 Lake Road, DeForest. A visitation will be held on Thursday at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.

I'm still at a loss for words. I will always remember the kitchen table discussions, and the random calls while he was driving. It's never goodbye, but until we catch up at a later date, rest well my friend!

what our families say

Tiffany Foster went out of her way to fulfill all my requests, talked me through problems I was facing, and tried to make me feel as comfortable as possible when I was a wreck, totally crushed, and I thank her with all of my heart for that.

James S. | July 2020

The professional manner of the staff made a difficult time a little easier.

Lynda R. | July 2020

Services provided for both parents were perfect, on time, and no issues. Brenda is awesome and strong!

Michael M. | July 2020

Skyler was absolutely amazing. She was so caring and helpful through this whole process. She even went above and beyond to meet with us in DeForest and even to make a stop at our home to drop off or pick up anything needed. While it was a small gesture, it was so helpful and greatly appreciated.
