Obituaries

DEFOREST-Lorraine B. Moran, age 92, passed away peacefully with family by her side, on August 25, 2017, at St Mary’s Hospital. She was born on Dec 18, 1924, to Paul and Frances (Littel) Miller. She was united in marriage to George Moran, 1946.

Lorraine worked as lunchroom lady at Deforest elementary for many years, also worked as staff accountant at St Olaf Catholic church Deforest, WI. She was a faithful charter member of St Olaf Catholic church. She loved walking 3 miles a day well into her 90's and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchild. Lorraine enjoyed weekly get together with the ladies at Poynette, WI beauty shop.

She is survived by children, Patrick Moran (Patricia) of Colorado, Jayne Thompson (Dennis) of Cottage Grove, Mary Carlson (Scott) of N Carolina; 11 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; sister, Mary Jane Bollig; brother, Bob (Audrey) Miller of Madison; and brother-in-law Tom Moran (Ann), and many nieces and nephews.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents; love of life George Moran; sisters, Delores Adams, Doris (Gene) Ellis, Lucille (Wally) Busse, and Pauline (Urban) Bollig; brother Jerry Miller (Avis); brother-in-laws, Delbert Bollig of Mount Horeb; Ted Moran, Robert Moran, John Moran, and sister-in-law Mary Moran-Topp of Morrisonville.

The family is appreciative of the staff at Waunakee manor and St Mary’s Hospital for their concern for Lorraine’s health while in their care.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m, Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m, at ST. OLAF CATHOLIC CHURCH, 623 Jefferson St., DeForest Friday Sept. 8, 2017, with Father Gary Wankerl presiding.
