Madison - Kirby Hendee, 92, of Madison, passed away Friday, March 11, 2016, one day before his 93rd birthday. Born in Milwaukee, he was a longtime resident of the Madison area. Kirby served his country in the army during WWII. After the war Kirby graduated from the College of the Holy Cross and the University of Michigan Law School, after which he became a practicing attorney. He met his wife Mary Finucan in 1958 and they wed in 1959. Kirby served in the Wisconsin State Senate from 1957-1960 after which became a highly respected lobbyist until his retirement in 1988.

Kirby was preceded in death by his parents, Abner and Ethel and sisters, Ethelmarie Hendee and Patricia Morrow.

Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Mary Finucan Hendee; daughter, Treacy; son, James (Beth) of Austin, Texas; grandchildren, Alexandra and Spencer Hendee of Austin, Texas and brother, Bob (Joan) of Berlin. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Private services will be held with the immediate family. The Hendee family thanks you for your thoughts and prayers.
