Obituary For Kelsey Elizabeth Kindschy

Kelsey Elizabeth Kindschy, age 33, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, after a decade-long battle with addiction.

Kelsey was the youngest of four children born to Celia and Bruce Kindschy. She was born on June 20, 1990 in Tomah, WI.

Kelsey was fiercely proud of her year of sobriety and had made goals and plans for her future. She never wanted to be defined by her addiction. She was a beautiful, compassionate, hilarious, kind, and deeply loving woman who had fallen into its grips. Kelsey was feisty and outspoken and she would do anything for anyone. She always lit up the room with her smile and contagious sense of humor. Kelsey had a song for every occasion, and she touched the life of every person she met.

Kelsey also loved animals, and from a very young age wanted to rescue every cat, dog, and horse she met.

Kelsey was not just another statistic or just “another one gone too soon.” She was so much more. Kelsey’s family and friends loved her dearly, and she made friends everywhere she went. Kelsey had a genuine heart with a bright future. She was a gift that the world lost and will never be able to replace.

Kelsey is survived by her daughters, Brooklyn, Kimora, and Emma; her mother, Celia Rollins; her father, Bruce (Lori) Kindschy; her siblings, Trevor Kindschy, Trudi Richardson, Bryn (Rory) Boyer, Greene Rollins, Creed Rollins, and Jonah Rollins; stepsisters, Rebecca Tervonen and Amy (Corey) Clark, and stepbrother, Nicholas (Dawn) Becker; her grandparents, Carroll and Carol Kindschy; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Zariah.

A memorial visitation to celebrate Kelsey will be held at Ryan Funeral Home, 6924 Lake Rd., Deforest, WI on Thursday, November 2, 2023 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 6651 Prairie View Dr., Sun Prairie, WI on Friday, November 3, 2023 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior to the service, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Friday at the church. A luncheon will be served after the service, with a private burial in the Pardeeville Cemetery.

The family wishes to thank Brenda Emerson for her excellent care and compassion to our family. We thank The Arc House and The Oxford House for all the support and friendship extended to Kelsey this past year. We also thank her attorney Zaki Zehawi for believing in Kelsey and fighting tirelessly on her behalf.

Our family knew Kelsey and Bryn before Kelsey started kindergarten, and they were like sisters in our family of five sons. We remember Kelsey full of energy, excitement, light, love and LOTS of smiles. It was a joy to have them both in our home while the family settled in to DeForest next door to us. We find peace knowing Kelsey lives on where she feels only love and beholds a future full of promise and purpose. We mourn her loss with her family friends and pray the Lord to help each of us know how to live better to best honor her. May time heal our broken hearts and seal to us forever only the happy memories. With love, Betsey and Kevin

Kelsey was my best friend/ and work sister at Red Robin's . She was the light of every shift I had working with her was a blessing I found a friend with the same humor I have also a big sister at heart who would encourage me to do better at anything I did ... me and Kelsey talked a lot about our love for music and how it would be so cool for her to be backstage at my shows after my big break .. most times she was more excited for my music than me lol ... she was like that some times ... I miss you and Love you always Friend! Your bestie/ little bro - Demetrius Davis aka Tuu'Meech 🖤

what our families say

Tiffany Foster went out of her way to fulfill all my requests, talked me through problems I was facing, and tried to make me feel as comfortable as possible when I was a wreck, totally crushed, and I thank her with all of my heart for that.

James S. | July 2020

The professional manner of the staff made a difficult time a little easier.

Lynda R. | July 2020

Services provided for both parents were perfect, on time, and no issues. Brenda is awesome and strong!

Michael M. | July 2020

Skyler was absolutely amazing. She was so caring and helpful through this whole process. She even went above and beyond to meet with us in DeForest and even to make a stop at our home to drop off or pick up anything needed. While it was a small gesture, it was so helpful and greatly appreciated.
