Obituary For Karen L. Henn
Karen L. Henn, age 76, of Columbus, Wisconsin passed away on February 14, 2025, at Vitas Inpatient Hospice at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Florida.
Karen was born in Madison, Wisconsin, the daughter of Eugene and Dorothy (Doerfer) Dreger. On August 25, 1973, Karen was united in marriage to the love of her life Thomas Henn.
Karen will be dearly missed by husband and her two children, Jason Henn (fiancée Jessica Alt), and Laura (Paul) Juckem and her four grandchildren, Jaelin Henn, Tyler Henn (fiancée Vada Freed), Blake Juckem, and Lia Juckem. Karen will also be lovingly remembered by her seven siblings: Dennis (Diane) Dreger, Robert (Kristine) Dreger, Marilyn Dreger (Tom Demke), Nancy (Bruce) Culver, Guy (Laura) Dreger, Judy (Paul) Hegge, and Lori Brown. She also had a special place in her heart for her goddaughter Carly (Brown) Marty.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her grandson, Ryan Juckem.
Karen graduated from Verona High School and attended Edgewood College which instilled a life-long love for reading and learning. She was dedicated to raising her children and had numerous clerical and accounting positions over the years. She performed civic duties, including serving as alderman for the City of Columbus. Karen was a hard worker and demonstrated integrity without compromise in all her endeavors.
Karen found joy in her family who were a source of intense pride. She was often the glue that brought people together. She was close with her four sisters, and in recent years they formed a singing ensemble called Dorothy’s Girls to honor their late mother and the joy music brought their family.
Karen excelled in basketball, tennis, and biking in her youth, later focusing on golf. She was an avid golfer, frequently playing 200+ rounds per year in retirement, obtaining five hole-in-ones. She looked forward to spending the winter months in Gulf Shores, Alabama playing golf, cards and eating out with friends. She loved talking and meeting new people; her enthusiasm was infectious.
Karen was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who was always there when needed the most, offering support, wisdom, and love in abundance. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. The outpouring of love and support is appreciated during this difficult time.
