Obituary For June Darlene Kleinheinz

Madison - June Kleinheinz passed away on December 7, 2024 at Oakwood Village in Madison, Wisconsin. June Darlene Harris was born in Wyalusing, Wisconsin, September 14, 1936 to Carson and Dorothy (Markley) Harris. She graduated first in her class from Bagley High School and soon after moved to Madison where she worked for the State of Wisconsin Department of Agriculture. It was in Madison where she met her future husband. June and Richard Kleinheinz were married in 1955 and enjoyed 62 years of marriage until his passing in 2018. June and Dick had two children, Debra born in 1956 and Richard in 1958. June was very active in her children’s lives. She was involved in school activities and spent time volunteering in scouting activities. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, (Debra’s Barbies were the best dressed in the neighborhood), reading, attending church, gardening, chair caning, and spending time with friends and family. She had a talent for oil painting that was only discovered once she moved to Oakwood Village Prairie Ridge. She and her husband enjoyed their camper and traveled in various places in the US. She was employed by the Wisconsin Telephone Company in 1970 and worked there 10 years. She was a regular blood donor and volunteered at the Bashford United Methodist Food Bank for many years. Most recently she was a member of Spring Prairie Lutheran Church.

June is survived by her daughter, Debra (Ronald) Sharpee of DeForest, Wisconsin, her son Richard (Judy) Kleinheinz of Wellington, Ohio, grandchildren, Amanda of Chippewa Lake, Ohio, Christopher (Beth) of Tucson, Arizona, and their son, Emmett. Other survivors include sister, Jan Moyer of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and brother Jerry Knight of Bloomington, Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by her husband, her mother and father, her step-father Wilford Knight, sister Joy Levins and brother James Harris. She was also preceded in death by several furry friends that all got excellent care from their human mom.

The family is grateful for the excellent care she received during her two-year residence in Memory Care at Oakwood Village Prairie Ridge and the wonderful end of life care from Agrace Hospice.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 11, 2024, with a lunch following at Spring Prairie Lutheran Church, N509 Cty Hwy C, DeForest, Wisconsin. Pastor Rick Bursh will be officiating. There will be a visitation one hour prior, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. If you wish to make a memorial, may we suggest either Agrace Hospice or Spring Prairie Lutheran Church.

I was very sorry to hear of the passing of your mom from Cheryl Brown Kolman (your cousin & mine too).I am Carrie Lucille Harris Morrell's daughter Ellen Cordry. I only had the pleasure of meeting your mom 1 time in our past that I can remember, but had talked with Jimmie many times @ Bagley gatherings. I just wanted to tell you how sorry I am for your loss as I know how important mom's can be & how empty it can be when they are no longer with us in person. Rest assured, they are always there in our hearts & thoughts/memories & other family members when you are together. Enjoy your memories - with the love she gave & shared while you were together. One day you will meet again to share for eternity..🫂💞🫂🙏✝️🙏

Deb and the rest of June's family and friends. I am so sorry for the loss of your mom. I have so many good memories of her. Our talks of the first sighting of the cranes in spring, at their home. Sightings of Pileated woodpeckers, and lots of other birds, and deer. Her great sense of humor. Her hosta and car cookies for your hosta shows, and the car shows,. I will cherish the hosta aprons she made for us, and so many more good memories. Your parents are now together again in heaven😇😇 and will always be with you🙏🙏 Thinking of you and sending hugs and all our love❤️

what our families say

Tiffany Foster went out of her way to fulfill all my requests, talked me through problems I was facing, and tried to make me feel as comfortable as possible when I was a wreck, totally crushed, and I thank her with all of my heart for that.

Skyler was absolutely amazing. She was so caring and helpful through this whole process. She even went above and beyond to meet with us in DeForest and even to make a stop at our home to drop off or pick up anything needed. While it was a small gesture, it was so helpful and greatly appreciated.
