Obituary For Judith Ann "Judy" Skroch

Sun Prairie/Melrose

Our precious mother, Judith Ann "Judy" Skroch, age 80 peacefully ascended to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in Heaven, after a 12-year crushing battle with Alzheimer's, on Friday January 10th, 2025, at Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg. She was born on May 4th, 1944, in Phelps, WI. the daughter of Art and Ruby (Harris) Heinig.

Judy at 28 yrs. old raised 6 children by herself, all under the age of 8. Judy's Strength and resilience, instilled love, structure, courage, and strength in her children and dedicated them all to the Lord. Judy endured many sacrifices willingly to raise her children and gave of herself to all, never expecting anything in return.

Judy was united in marriage to Emil "Sonny" Skroch on April 29th, 1989, and gained 2 beloved stepchildren. Together they ran an organic dairy farm and harvested the best corn I have ever tasted. Previously, Judy worked 3rd Shift at Central Wisconsin center in Madison.

Judy and Sonny prided themselves in living a healthy lifestyle, enjoying running and dancing. They ran many 5K and 10K races with multitudes of metals, ribbons and trophies. Judy was a Boy Scout leader and volunteered for Church Missionary trips in Mexico. She also loved to garden, bake bread, and Special Cakes for each of her children's Birthdays.

Judy is survived by her children, Tim (Mary) Moore, Jon (Jen Recoy Moore) Moore , Jeff Moore, Tamela (Jim) Foye, Trisha (Rick) Bultman and Tara (Otley) Freymiller; stepchildren, Kevin (Dennis Geise) Skroch and Raquel "Rocky" Skroch; grandchildren: Evan, Jessica, Lauren, Joseph, Bella, Katie, Austin, Ryan (Michelle) Foye, Cassie, Nicholas (Emily Wink) Bultman, Peyton, Bronwyn, Daniel, David, Victoria, and Jessica; great-grandchildren: Abriella, James, Bently, Braiden, and Elyza; sister Jeannie Harris and Brother Bill Heinig.

She was preceded in death by her Eternal Love, Sonny; her Parents and sister, Pat Osborne Baker.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date in North Bend WI. Judy will be interred next to her husband Sonny at Bethel Cemetery, Independence WI.

An immeasurable thank you to Agrace Hospice for their gift of love and compassion, through this difficult passing of our matriarch. Memorials may be made to Agrace Hospice, Fitchburg.

That was a beautiful tribute to your mom. Judy attended our church in Melrose a number of years. She was a hard worker. She went to Ecuador with us on a mission trip and was so fun to have with and we enjoyed her fellowship. One of the memories of the mission trip was when part of our group climbed to the top of the mountain and Judy was with them. Along the way there was some common berry (my husband and I can't remember the kind) but they were large and abundant at the high altitude. Judy talked about how healthy they were for a person and she ate a lot of them. She discovered that berries at that high altitude were very potent and she suffered the consequences for a day. We also "LOVED" their sweet corn. We agree, "it was the best". Judy loved Jesus and it was very evident in her life. She prayed for her children and loved them very much. We are glad she is in heaven with Jesus. Prayers for your families. We have moved to Kansas because of health issues but wanted to send you our condolances. Rev. George and Bev Jaderston

It was pure joy to help care for you Mother at Brookdale. She brought so much beauty, compassion, fun, zest and more every day to every activity. I looked forward to each day to her morning greetings, and her smile. I will never forget her lovely singing voice and when she sang with "Elvis", danced to the 50's, and kicked my butt in volleyball, and not to mention her good and loving heart. She will be dearly missed, but always will remain forever in our hearts. 💜

Judy loved to run and dance and garden. She was a spark plug. Together with Sonny made a neat couple.

what our families say

Tiffany Foster went out of her way to fulfill all my requests, talked me through problems I was facing, and tried to make me feel as comfortable as possible when I was a wreck, totally crushed, and I thank her with all of my heart for that.

Skyler was absolutely amazing. She was so caring and helpful through this whole process. She even went above and beyond to meet with us in DeForest and even to make a stop at our home to drop off or pick up anything needed. While it was a small gesture, it was so helpful and greatly appreciated.
