ANOKA, MN/Lodi, WI – Joyce Marie (Burton) Green, age 91, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 29, 2024. Joyce was born on July 9, 1932, in Minneapolis, MN to Walter and Bess (Humphreys) Burton. She graduated from Anoka High School in 1950. She attended Beauty School and owned her own shop until she married Bill Green. Through Bill’s career in Navy service the family was stationed in California, Guam, Washington, and Wisconsin. After being married to Bill, she embarked on a new career in Balsam Lake, WI founding Five Flags Golf Course, which she ran successfully for 20 years. Joyce retired at 74 and settled in Lodi with her daughter, Jane. She was a member of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church in Lodi. Joyce was an avid cook, enjoyed reading, studying genealogy and researching her family history, and especially spending time with her grandchildren.

Joyce is survived by her children, Helen (Bob) AlSaid, Michael, and Jane (Steve) Edwards; daughter-in-law, Peggy; grandchildren, Ibrahim, Justin, Billy, Kyle, Melissa, Jeremy, and Rebecca; four great grandchildren; sister, Lois Shelley; and sister-in-law, Donna Burton. She is preceded in death by the father of her children, Bill; son, Lee; siblings Rose (Warren) Heck and Dan Burton.

Joyce chose to be buried with her parents at Forest Hill Cemetery in Anoka, MN. A private burial will be held. A Celebration of Life will be held from NOON to 3:00pm on Friday, May 10, 2024, at Coon Rapids VFW 9625, 1919 Coon Rapids Blvd.
