McFarland

Jeffrey J. Schram, age 58, of McFarland, died Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at home after a long illness. He was the son of the late Dr. C.E. and Joan (Reynolds) Schram.

In Jeff’s earlier years he was a professional water skier with the Madison Capital City Water Ski Team during the time that they won seven national championships. He was known as the original “Sparky the Clown”. He was also a member of the Local 251 IASTE as a climbing rigger and supported many theater and concert productions in Madison. Jeff was a one-of-a-kind professional mechanic and custom welder. He always had a love for his old vintage Jeeps and boats. In his later years, he was the owner and designer of Tail Waggin’ Dreams, a wonderful, amazing business featuring custom, handcrafted dog leashes.

Jeff is survived by his soul mate and partner of 25 years, Julie Acker; a daughter, Dr. Carly M. Schram of Royal Oak, MI; a sister, Mrs. Patricia Winn of Golden, CO; two brothers, Michael (Mary Ann) Schram of Frisco, TX and Peter (Martha) Schram of Madison; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family extends a special thank you to Tim Gattenby and his adapted Fitness class, CLA, ADRC, DVR, his doctors and physical therapists for helping Jeff live his last years to his fullest. Thanks also to Heartland Hospice Team.

Jeff, your amazing courage, strength and will is an inspiration to us all forever.

A Memorial Celebration of Jeff’s life will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 2418 N. Sherman Avenue, with Msgr. Charles Schluter officiating. Private burial will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery. A visitation will be on Saturday at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
