DEFOREST/PORTAGE/POYNETTE - Jean Nanette "Nan" Nelson, 89, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 20, 2020 at The Legacy in Deforest. Nan was born on July 21, 1931 in Poynette, WI to parents, Donald and LaVera(Drake) Jellings. Nan was a 1949 graduate of Poynette High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Christian Nelson, on December 23, 1950. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, painting, ceramics, recipe collecting, golfing, bowling, and cross-country skiing. Nan used her talents at many local DeForest businesses: DeForest Drive-In, Alberta's Knit Shop, Ben Franklin Store and was an active member of the DeForest Moravian Church. She was a constant source of love, creativity, and support for her husband, family and friends.

She is survived by her children: Gail (Mike) Wrzinski, Christian “Mike” (Charlene) Nelson, Mitch (Johnna) Nelson; grandchildren: Jessi, Nick, Matt, Christian, Christal, Zach; 6 great grandchildren: Kailey, Blake, Tanner, Noah, Lucas, Kenna; 1 great great grandchild, Benny; sister, Ann Repka; brother, Marvin (Nancy) Jellings; sisters-in-law: Mary Ellen(Lew) Cole, Connie Nelson.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents; brother, Delbert (Joan) Jellings; sisters-in-law: Virginia (Bob) Gorman, Shirley Nelson; brother-in-law, Russell Nelson.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, a Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
