Gary and Chuck. I'm so very sorry. I only knew Jean thru Nancy. We share a nephew in Tyler as I'm Jim's sister. I pray you are finding peace in all the people who care about you. I'm sending a donation to the library In Jeans memory. Blessings.

Our condolences, thoughts and prayers go out to Jean's family and we all share their loss - Jean worked with us at Bridgeman's/Shar-Lee's during the late '70's & early '80's and we were very fortunate to have Jean and lots of good kids with us through those years - she was at the top, a lovely person to everyone she worked with and customers she would meet - may God bless her and her family on her final journey- she will be dearly missed ! Jean and Carla stopped by the information tent at the west side community farmers market almost every Saturday. I looked forward to their visit and happy smiles. I'm so sorry for your loss. May Jean be market shopping in heaven.

My deepest condolences to Gary and Chuck. I will always have warm memories of Jean Marty from our work together at Savanna Oaks Middle in Verona. Jean was so welcoming, with a bright sense of humor, a love of theater (especially APT) and an almost encyclopedic knowledge of all things in the Verona community (long-time residents, students, teachers, etc.). Her caring and comfort around teaching inquiring young minds was very evident. Also the little spark when she would announce that Gary was coming by the school to deliver his "Tornado" presentation or talking about her son Chuck's life and interests. She leaves a legacy through the people she touched and will be missed greatly. - Asa Miura 12/16/2022

Jean was my longstanding best friend from high school. We first met when I joined the volleyball team at Verona High School. She immediately took me under her wing and our friendship grew from there. We shared so many great times together and I have the most treasured memories of our teenage and early adulthood years. Jean and I shared a passion for England and we both spent a wonderful term there in college that we were still talking about when I last saw her in September. Over the years and despite the distance, our friendship has continued unabated over 40 years. Her joy for learning, quick wit, kindness and care for her family are what most come to mind when thinking about Jean. I shall miss her greatly. My thoughts and prayers are with you Gary, Chuck, Pat and the rest of the family and I know how much you'll feel her loss. I hope your faith and the love and friendship of those around you gives you comfort. Amy

Gary and Chuck, I'm very, very sorry for your sudden loss. Know that Jean was a bright light in the schools and her beautiful smile always greeted other staff, not just her beloved students. I enjoyed her enthusiasm at middle school and I remember hearing her tell (in the teacher's lounge) about meeting Gary! She's gone too soon, but not forgotten.

Ms. Marty, as I knew her, was an amazing teacher and touched my life with the love of Shakespeare...and made me a better person. After I graduated, I would see her every once and a while at Hyvee. She always had a smile on her face and was one of the most amazing people I've ever met. Rest in peace, Jean. ❤️
