Madison - Janice K. Lokken, age 81, passed away on June 19, 2024, at Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg. Janice was born as the 11th child of Ole and Myrtle (Swenson) Lokken in Monroe, WI on May 15, 1943. She grew up on the family farm in rural Blanchardville, WI and graduated high school in New Glarus, WI. She worked at Springs Window Fashions before retiring.

When asked about how she would describe her life, she said, “perfect”. That speaks volumes to her attitude in life. Janice lived a life of being a great friend, a person who was always up for an adventure and enjoyed a good laugh. She had a strong bond with her siblings and was known as the “fun aunt” by her nieces and nephews who always got away with a little extra in her presence. Her home and her neighborhood brought her great joy and spending time in her backyard was her favorite place to be. Her friends were her partners in adventure and in going out to enjoy a meal and a good time.

She was survived by her dog Jiggs; sisters, Sylvia Lokken, Carol (Pete) Riphahn, Linda Palzkill, Marilyn Wood, Donna Moreno. Brothers Duane (Josie), Dennis (Mary), Paul (Marilyn), Glenn (Janice), Jerry (Lynn) Lokken. Sister-in-Law Thelma Lokken and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Otis, Doris (Arthur) Paulson, Robert, Kenneth and Donald (Virginia); in-laws Don Palzkill and Daisy Lokken, nephews Mark and Luke Lokken. She will also be missed by her close friends of many years.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Ryan Funeral Home, 2418 N. Sherman Ave, Madison. A visitation will be held on Saturday at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be held at Highland Memory Gardens.
