Sweet baby Jacey Marie Whitney passed away in her sleep while in the care of her mother on Thursday, May 16, 2024. She was born on March 16, 2024. She is the daughter of Brendan Whitney and Jenna Herwig.

Jacey was intelligent, sweet, and full of joy and anyone she came into contact with knew it. When she wasn’t sleeping, Jacey spent most of her time sitting up wanting to be actively engaged in what was happening. Jacey did not like to be dirty, she would wipe her spit up off her face before her mother had the chance to get to it. She loved bath time, enjoyed splashing around and the “purple monkey in a bubblegum tree” song her mother would always sing while scrubbing her. She loved snuggling next to people, so we are snuggling her close to our hearts right now.

During the short time, Jacey was here she was loved by many of her family and friends. She won over everyone’s hearts and understood the quality of her life. Her mother will always love and care for her wiggle worm.

Jacey is survived by her parents, Jenna and Brendan; great-grandparents Laurel Herwig, Ernest and Patricia Tucker, Ronald and Linda Simplot; grandparents: Kyle (Dionne) Herwig, Loxanne Tucker Herwig, Jason Whitney, Amanda Simplot; aunt and uncle: Brooke Whitney, Jace Herwig; great aunts and uncles: April (James) Massengill, Samantha (Justin) Vance; and cousins: Destini, Jaron, Jake, Avelyn, and Paislee.

She was predeceased by great-grandpa, Jon Herwig.

A Funeral Service to be held at 11:00 A.M on Friday, May 24, 2024, at Christ Lutheran Church, 220 S. Main Street, Deforest. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. The burial is to follow the funeral services at Norway Grove Memorial Cemetery in Deforest. A luncheon will follow the burial at Christ Lutheran Church.
