Obituary For Gregory K. "Greg" Wilson
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gregory K. “Greg” Wilson, who passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at his home in Baraboo, WI. He was born in Muskegon, MI on November 5th, 1955, to James “Mike” and Marianne (Odmark) Wilson. He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his brother Mark.
Greg spent the majority of his life in Tulsa, OK. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1976 to 1979 at Wertheim Air Base in Germany. Most of his life he worked in Retail Management with a portion of his time at American Airlines. He was a supporter of the Baraboo Area Homeless Shelter and always looked for ways to help others. He was a proud member of the Mensa society, being actively involved in group meetings in the Tulsa area.
On July 7th, 2007, Greg married Kathy Hall in Baraboo WI; he also had two daughters with previous marriages; Kristi Graston with Leann Jackson and Lauren (Chad) Wilke with Sharon Klepp. He was blessed with 8 grandchildren as well who he adored greatly. In addition to his wife, daughters and grandchildren, he is survived by his brother, Jeff (Marva) Wilson; sister, Wendy (Rick) Hendryx; sister-in-law, Rhonda Wilson and several nieces and nephews.
Greg had an artist’s soul – he always looked at the creativity of the world around him and was a talented self-taught painter whose artwork was shared with family and friends alike. His love language was gift giving; he loved to shower those he cared about with gifts, large and small, and if he heard of someone in need – whether he knew them or not – would help as much as possible, even if it was just buying diapers for a family or stranger in need.
An open house will be held at Natural Path Sanctuary on Spring Rose Road in Verona WI on Friday, December 22, 2023, from 1-3 p.m. Burial with Military Honors will begin at 2 p.m. Due to the nature of the natural burial grounds no flowers or plants are permitted at the site – donations can be made to Baraboo Area Homeless Shelter instead if desired. Parking at the Sanctuary is very limited. Ride sharing is encouraged and parking for such is available at Ryan Funeral Home, Verona, WI
Greg will be remembered fondly by all who knew him for his immense generosity and loving heart - may he now rest peacefully forevermore.
The family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers at SSM Health Hospice for their love and support during the last two weeks of his life.
