Obituary For Ginger Carlson

**In Loving Memory of Ginger Carlson**

DeForest - Ginger Carlson, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend, peacefully departed this world on November 30, 2023 at her home in DeForest, Wisconsin, at the age of 77.

Born Elsie Mildred Droster on March 9th, 1946, in Madison, Wisconsin, Ginger was the daughter of Mildred Carpenter Droster (Schroeder) and Earl Droster, and stepfather Lawrence Schroeder.

Raised in Madison, Oregon, McFarland, and ultimately DeForest, WI, she cultivated enduring friendships, leaving an indelible mark on all she encountered. Celebrated for her kindness, sense of humor, outgoing nature, and deep love for her family and friends, she touched the lives of many.

As a dedicated single mother, Ginger found profound joy in raising her children, instilling values of love, resilience, and integrity. Her nurturing spirit extended to her role as a grandmother, creating many cherished memories with her grandchildren.

Ginger's strength and resilience shone brightly during her valiant 4-year battle with ovarian cancer, met with unwavering positivity. Widely known for her sociable nature and warm smile, she rarely went anywhere without encountering someone she knew.

During her 17-year tenure as the main receptionist and later tour director at ABS, Ginger touched countless lives with boundless enthusiasm and a genuine passion for the bulls, sharing the company's story through her tours and dozens of ABS ‘Bullboard' slogans on Interstate 94 with thousands of visitors worldwide every year. Former ABS President Dr. Robert Walton once aptly noted, "She probably made more friends for ABS than anyone else in the company."

Whether forging connections on Facebook, making new friends while sampling delights at Walmart, or cherishing moments with loved ones, she approached life with unwavering courage, boundless enthusiasm, and a delightful sense of humor. Her radiant, genuine smile and the twinkle in her beautiful blue eyes served as an inspiration to those fortunate enough to be around her, encouraging them to embrace life with the same zest.

Ginger is survived by her children, Stacy Carlson of DeForest, WI, and Chad Carlson (Edward Westerman) of Jackson, WY; grandchildren Alyssa Motiff (Brad Schneider), Jared Motiff (Aurora Roberson), and Ethan and Violet Carlson-Westerman; and her first great grandchild that will be arriving in May, that Ginger was so excited to meet; sister Linda Stamm; many nieces and nephews, and countless friends. Her absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, December 8, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Ryan Funeral Home, 6924 Lake Road, DeForest.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her memory to the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance or the Open Minds Foundation, reflecting Ginger's courageous cancer battle and coercive control survivorship.

Ginger Carlson's legacy of love, kindness, and resilience will endure, continuing to inspire and uplift those fortunate enough to share in her remarkable journey.

May her soul rest in eternal peace.

My deepest sympathies to the family of Ginger. I was unaware of her passing until I past the ABS marquee on the interstate. I remember Ginger as a very sweet and beautiful soul. I went on a private tour with my mom (Molly Hahn), who was a very good friend with her mother Millie. I enjoyed the tour, being a Dairy Science Major at UW-Madison and was very interest in the industry. Ginger was so fun and a great ambassador to ABS. Ginger reminded me so much of her mom, who was very dear to my heart. I loved the cookbook that the family made for her and made many of those recipes. I hope all the good memories that you share will help ease the grief and the loss of during this difficult time. Love, Brenda (Hahn) Wagner

Stacy and Chad, I just learned of your Mom's passing. I'm incredibly sorry for your loss. I've found that believing that 'She is no longer in pain' statement, it really does help and is so true, for me anyhow. I met your Mom while we were in middle school and loved seeing and talking with her forever after! She was such a joy. I remember her as being gracious, happy and a bright light every time I saw her. She would come into the places I worked, in DeForest, with that huge smile on her face and something positive to say. Ginger was always - always so pleasant to see and talk to. I'm so sorry she is gone. I know you guys will be ok and continue to thrive in life, because that's what your Mom would want. Sending you both so much Love 😘

I will always remember Ginger as the sweetest demo lady I have ever had the chance to meet! She even gave me a package of little spoons when I was making pudding shots and commented on them. I will miss not seeing her on fb with her uplifting ways. May she fly with the angels.

Our sister in law was a most inspirational friendly and helpful person to all that knew her. The constant smile and acts of goodness followed her closely. Her courage during these last four years of illness was remarkable. May the memories of her life and passion carry forward to her children and grandchildren Richard and Sandy Carlson Lakewood Ranch Fl

Chad and Stacy- your obituary embodies the essence that was Ginger. I was privileged to know her as a neighbor in Winneconne for a year and a half. We shared many a cup of coffee after Ginger baked a fresh batch of cookies. I'm proud to be the owner of a copy of Miss Millies Book of Home Cooking. As Ginger would make up a batch of wheat buns to remember her Gram I will treasure this cookbook and remember Ginger. I know how much this book meant to her. That fruit cake recipe looks intriguing! I will miss Ginger. What a beautiful soul. Marianne and Paul Miller Oshkosh

I met Ginger when she demoed food at Walmart. Since the day I met her, I always looked for her every time we stopped. One day, I looked up at her and said, "You're my best friend". She even posted about it on her Facebook story on June 29, 2023 when I added her on Facebook. Ginger has always been the light of many people's day, and her memory will continue to. Ginger was one of the sweetest people I've met, and I'm so fortunate that I was able to meet her, and also hear from her again before she passed. She will be missed profoundly. Sending love and hugs.

Ginger was the sister I never had. We talked everyday . She always knew the right thing to say to make me feel so much better about myself. I don't know if she ever realize how much she met to me and many others. My heart is broken, but I know she is where she needs to be. You are my angel and I know you are watching over your loved ones. Kathy

what our families say

Tiffany Foster went out of her way to fulfill all my requests, talked me through problems I was facing, and tried to make me feel as comfortable as possible when I was a wreck, totally crushed, and I thank her with all of my heart for that.

Skyler was absolutely amazing. She was so caring and helpful through this whole process. She even went above and beyond to meet with us in DeForest and even to make a stop at our home to drop off or pick up anything needed. While it was a small gesture, it was so helpful and greatly appreciated.
