Obituary For Frank P. Prestigiacomo

FITCHBURG-On March 3, 2018, Frank Patrick (Pat, Patty Boy or Uncle Pat as he was called by his family) Prestigiacomo left to be with his heavenly father. Frank was born on St. Patrick’s Day 75 years ago, and is the reason why this Sicilian was given the middle name, Patrick. Frank was the last son, and youngest child of seven of Frank and Rose Prestigiacomo. Frank grew up in the Greenbush neighborhood (the “Bush”) until his mother and father moved to Sequoia Trail where he lived until he was married.

Frank married the love of his life Judith Ann Carroll on November 14, 1964 in Madison Wisconsin. Frank and Judy raised two loving children, Christopher Patrick and Rebecca Ann (Lamphear). He was the very proud Papa of three grandchildren, Owen, Max and Sam.

Frank graduated from Madison Business College in 1965 with an associate’s degree in accounting and believed that you are never too old to stop learning. Frank went on to graduate later in life from Edgewood College with a major in Accounting and Business. His motto, “what the mind can conceive and believe, it will achieve” was something he passed on to all that touched him.

Early in his career, Frank worked for the Jack Heifetz Co. where he learned about real estate and real estate investing which eventually led him to buy his own rental properties in Madison. In 1967, Frank joined Cuna Mutual Insurance Society where he spent most of his career as an account manager. Frank retired from Cuna Mutual in 1995.

One of Frank’s passions was the stock market where he enjoyed investing and following his assets. Frank studied investment articles and strategies and used this knowledge to help others. Frank’s philosophy was that it is not how much money you make, but how you save and spend the money you make.

Frank took great pride in his family and his grandchildren meant the world to him. Frank was known for his sense of humor and his always willingness to give and help others. Frank had a big heart that touched many people throughout his life.

Preceded in passing were his four brothers, Nick, Tony, Joe and Sam, his sister Mary Maiale, brother-in-law William V. Maiale, Albert Lococo, sister in laws MaryDon, Beverly, Mary and Shirley, great nephew John Johnson, and nephew Nicki Joe Prestigiacomo.

Frank is survived by his wife, Judith Ann, son Chris (Meg) of Madison; daughter, Becky (Scott) Lamphear of Denver, CO; and his sister, Josephine Lococo of Hawthorne, CA.

A visitation and rosary will be held at Joyce-Ryan Funeral Home at 5701 Odana Road in Madison on Wednesday, March 7th from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. The funeral will take place at Good Shepard Catholic Parish at St. Joseph Church, at 1905 W. Beltline Highway on March 8th at 11:00am followed by the interment at the Resurrection Cemetery located at 2705 Regent Street. Following the service, Frank’s family would like to invite family and friends to an Italian luncheon at Luigi’s at 515 S. Midvale Boulevard to celebrate Frank’s life, share some memories, have a few laughs and shed a few tears. Frank will be watching down as we toast and celebrate over a feast of pasta, pizza and vino rosso!

Frank will be missed by his family and friends. Rest in peace Frank (Dad) and may the perpetual light shine upon you.

Dad, you were there to see our first breaths, we were there to see your last. You fought so very hard to stay, but were called away. While we are sad that you are gone, we are relieved you are now at peace and no longer suffering. Your love and support will continue to be in our hearts. You have given us much, but have taught us so much more. We love you and will miss you. To view and sign this guestbook, please visit: www.ryanfuneralservice.com

what our families say

Tiffany Foster went out of her way to fulfill all my requests, talked me through problems I was facing, and tried to make me feel as comfortable as possible when I was a wreck, totally crushed, and I thank her with all of my heart for that.

The professional manner of the staff made a difficult time a little easier.

Lynda R. | July 2020

Skyler was absolutely amazing. She was so caring and helpful through this whole process. She even went above and beyond to meet with us in DeForest and even to make a stop at our home to drop off or pick up anything needed. While it was a small gesture, it was so helpful and greatly appreciated.
