Eleuterio “Terry” Rivera Caisip Jr., nick-named “June”, aged 79, passed away on December 13, 2023, in Madison, Wisconsin, due to complications from kidney and heart failure. Born in April, 1944, in Concepcion, Tarlac, Republic of the Philippines, Terry was a man whose life was rich and vibrant as his heritage.
Terry grew up in the Philippines, where he attended Santa Rita Elementary School in his hometown. His early life set the stage for a diverse career path that saw him mastering various trades and professions. Known for his strong work ethic, Terry initially worked as a block mason in Manila before embracing the life of a farmer and entrepreneur. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to own a barber shop, and his passion for service saw him become a kitchen specialist for the United States Air Force, employed at Dyess AFB, TX. Later, he continued to showcase his skills in an Italian restaurant in Madison, Wisconsin. Terry lived in the USA for nine years and became a Naturalized US Citizen.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Terry was a man of many interests. He found joy in distance walking, indulging in the solitude and tranquility they offered. As a boxing enthusiast, he enjoyed the thrill of the sport. His love of turkey husbandry reflected his nurturing spirit. Terry’s talent for gourmet cooking allowed him to express his creativity in the kitchen, love for good food, and sharing delicious meals with family and friends.
Family was the cornerstone of Terry’s life. He is survived by his loving wife, Lucia Garcia Caisip, of Dau Homesite, Mabalacat, Republic of the Philippines and their three children: Mario Caisip, Irene Abuda and Winnie Caisip, all of whom hail from Dau Homesite, Mabalacat, Pampanga, Republic of the Philippines. Terry’s legacy continues through his eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild who will carry forward the rich tapestry of stories and lessons he shared.
Terry also leaves behind a close knit family, including his five sisters, Amelia Juvonen, of East Kurrajong, Australia, Lourdes Daniel of Woonsocket, Rhode Island, Cora Bauries, and Agnes Calaguas both of Abilene, Texas and La Purisima Curry of Madison, Wisconsin. His two step-sisters, Annabelle Caisip and Imelda Caisip, reside in Dau Homesite, Mabalacat, Republic of the Philippines. He is also survived by his brothers, Honorio Caisip of Madison, Wisconsin, and Jesus Caisip of Abilene, Texas. Terry was preceded in death by his brother, Albert Caisip, and his parents, Eleuterio Bagsic Caisip and Victoriana Yumul Caisip.
As we bid farewell to Eleuterio “Terry” Rivera Caisip, we celebrate a life well lived – a life full of purpose, joy, and an abundance of love. His journey may have ended on this earth, but his story is not an ending but a lasting legacy that will echo through generations.
