Obituaries

Our beloved mother, Elaine J. McGhee (nee Sisson) of Madison, WI died peacefully at her home on Monday, December 4, 2017. She was born on November 21, 1927 in Dubuque, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry V. and Genevieve H. (nee O’Meara) Sisson, a brother Robert L. Sisson, John C. McGhee, Sr., a son Michael V. McGhee, a grandson Luke C. Breckenridge and sister-in-law, Mary Jeanne Sisson.

Survivors include daughters Constance J., Mary M. Kellor (John), Joan E. Breckenridge (Bradley), and Jeanne Anne Short; sons James M. (Mala), Thomas P. (Raphael Kadushin), Joseph P. (Wendy), John, Jr. (Karren) and Patt Esser, Life Partner of Michael V., deceased. Also surviving are her brother H. Joseph Sisson, 16 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, plus many nieces and nephews of both the Sisson and McGhee families. Also surviving are Mary McGhee Pickart (Glenn) and David M. McGhee (Alice), sister-in-law, brother-in-law and spouses.

A celebration of life Mass will be held at a future date. There will be no visitation. After cremation burial will be in Dubuque, Iowa.

The family respectfully suggests that any gifts in her memory be sent to a charity of choice or to the Sisters of Charity, B.V.M., 1100 Carmel Drive, Dubuque, Iowa 52003.
