Obituary For Edward H. Chesser

Edward H. Chesser passed away September 27, 2024 in Monroe, WI with his granddaughter Fayth by his side. He was born November 23, 1949 to Marjorie (Harold) Rhodes and Homer (Louise) Chesser.

He worked for Barber Green and later Caterpillar for 26 years.

Ed married Judy Coppes on November 12, 1974 in Metropolis, IL. Together, they loved camping, boating, riding their motorcycle, traveling, and hiking. He enjoyed making people laugh with his quirky jokes and funny facial expressions, and getting lost in a car that kept dying every 50 feet. When he was younger, he also loved to golf and was a great bowler.

He is survived by his wife Judy, 2 sons Barry (Teresa) Coppes, Mike Chapman and daughter Tammy (Paul Gray) Nedland, grandkids Hailee, Hanna, Edward, Rebecca, Breanna, Fayth, Weslee, Kelly, and Corrina and 6 great grandchildren. Sisters Nancy Aldis, Diane Chesser, Judy (Larry) Miller, and brothers Cecil Chesser, Danny Chesser, and David (Linda) Chesser.

He is preceded in death by his parents Marjorie (Harold) Rhodes, Homer (Louise) Chesser, several aunts and uncles and his dog Molly.

A celebration of Life to celebrate his 75th birthday and 50th Anniversary with Judy with family was held prior to him passing away. Burial of remains will be at Fairview Cemetary Urn Garden in DeKalb at a later date.

Special Thank You to everyone that came out to celebrate with him, along with the FHN Hospice Team, and the SSM Monroe Hospice Home.

Favorite saying--- "I have something for you in my pocket."

Tammy, your dad was such a fun guy to be around. Even when he wasn't feeling great he was cracking jokes and making everyone smile. I'm so glad I was able to be there for his birthday and your parents anniversary celebration. He was an awesome man and will be truly missed.

what our families say

Tiffany Foster went out of her way to fulfill all my requests, talked me through problems I was facing, and tried to make me feel as comfortable as possible when I was a wreck, totally crushed, and I thank her with all of my heart for that.

Skyler was absolutely amazing. She was so caring and helpful through this whole process. She even went above and beyond to meet with us in DeForest and even to make a stop at our home to drop off or pick up anything needed. While it was a small gesture, it was so helpful and greatly appreciated.
