Obituary For Dion J McConley

MADISON – Dion J. McConley, age 59, passed away, with his loved ones at his side, on Sunday, November 10, 2024. Dion was born in Madison, WI to Tom and Jackie McConley on March 25, 1965.

He graduated from East High School in 1983 was proud to have put himself through college at the University of Wisconsin, earning two bachelor’s degrees in finance and economics.

Dion was a very ambitious young man and business owner. He remained working self-employed throughout his entire career. Eventually he settled successfully in real estate. He self-taught numerous things such as taxidermy, remodeling and building houses. "I can't” was not in Dion's vocabulary. All of Dion's knowledge and talent were self-taught. Dion enjoyed fishing, the outdoors, gambling, traveling and never passed up an opportunity to explore new destinations. He made friends everywhere he visited. He loved having a good time. Dion touched many lives and will be missed by all.

Dion is survived by his mother, Jackie; and two brothers, Darren and Donn. He is further survived by other family and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at ST. PETER CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5001 N. Sherman Ave, Madison. A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass on Thursday at the church.

The family would like to thank the staff at St. Mary’s Hospital for their care and support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Peter Catholic Church. To view and sign this guestbook, please visit: www.ryanfuneralservice.com

what our families say

Tiffany Foster went out of her way to fulfill all my requests, talked me through problems I was facing, and tried to make me feel as comfortable as possible when I was a wreck, totally crushed, and I thank her with all of my heart for that.

The professional manner of the staff made a difficult time a little easier.

Lynda R. | July 2020

Services provided for both parents were perfect, on time, and no issues. Brenda is awesome and strong!

Skyler was absolutely amazing. She was so caring and helpful through this whole process. She even went above and beyond to meet with us in DeForest and even to make a stop at our home to drop off or pick up anything needed. While it was a small gesture, it was so helpful and greatly appreciated.
