DeForest-

David Warner Haswell, age 89, died on Friday, March 3, 2017. He was born July 18, 1927 in the Town of Windsor to Clement Dodge and Ester (Schwebs) Haswell. He lived nearly his entire life on the home farm near Windsor. As a graduate of Windsor Grade School and DeForest High School (1945), he attended 2 years at Madison Business College.

He started working for Wolf, Kubly & Hirsig Hardware, Madison and then spent time with J.C. Penney Co. in California and Madison.

On June 11, 1949 he married Rosalind Schneider of Dane Wisconsin.

David started farming with his father (Clement) in 1950 where he raised 3 sons on the farm. An opening at the Postal Service in DeForest gave an opportunity to become a Rural Mail Carrier in 1967 and continued until retiring in 1995.

He enjoyed music and was involved with several church and civic choirs including The Madison Festival Choir, Middleton Civic Choir and Edgewood Community Choir. He and wife Rosalind over the years went on very interesting and enjoyable choir tours to foreign countries.

He was a member of the DeForest Evangelical Free Church in DeForest, WI.

He is survived by his wife Rosalind, son Jeffrey (Renee) Haswell, Tehachapi, CA and brother Dr John (MaryAnn) Haswell, Nashville, TN.

He was preceded in death by Grandparents George & Bessie (Warner) Haswell, Charles & Millie (Hamlin) Schwebs; Parents Clement Dodge & Ester (Schwebs) Haswell; Step-brother Kent Siegel as well as 2 sons Daniel Henry Haswell and Timothy Paul Haswell.

Services will be held at the DeForest Evangelical Free Church, DeForest, on March 16th, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. A visitation at 10:00 a.m. will be prior to the service. Interment will be at Windsor Cemetery.
