Obituary For Daniel J Meyers

Madison - Daniel J. Meyers, age 66, of Madison left this world on July 2, 2024. Dan was the 8th child born to Phillip & Maxine Meyers. Being a special child, he enjoyed the company of his many brothers and sisters. He was well traveled in the area with many care providers. Dan found his home with Dreamweavers and resided in a house with two of the best roommates around, and only a few blocks from one of his brothers.

Dan enjoyed his job on the Shred Route with Pathways with Shannon and the staff helping him conquer each day. Many thanks go out to the many staff members at Dreamweavers, Catherine, Rob and Grace, as well the Kennedy Road house staff.

Dan enjoyed a good cup of decaf coffee or unsweetened tea. He was happy to have such a supportive family that took him to Murphy’s on several occasions. He loved sports and his wish for his funeral is for everyone to wear their favorite Badgers, Brewers or Packers attire. Dan was a big fan.

Dan is survived by his brothers Hap, Kevin, Larry, Tom, Andy and sisters Katherine, Mary, Ann, Julie and Theresa, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Phillip and Maxine and infant brother Paul.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at ST. PETER CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5001 N Sherman Ave, Madison. Visitation will be held from 9:30am until the time of service. A luncheon will follow the service at the church. Burial will take place at St. John’s Cemetery in Spring Green, Wisconsin.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Agrace, Dreamweavers, Pathways of Wisconsin, or CKD Research.

Goodbye for now Dan, you are not alone, we will see you soon!

Condolences from the Borchert family. My grandparents John and Mary Borchert lived next door. I grew up there for the first 5 years of my life with my parents Bill and Bunny Borchert . (I used to play with Larry, Ann and Julie) With our deepest sympathies, Roylene (Borchert) Galbraith and Bill Borchert

I had the privilege of working with Dan for 5 years. I got to know Dan through employment with Dreamweavers I was his overnight staff. Then I started working for Pathways of Wisconsin and had the privilege of working with him. Dan worked in the office setting he would stuff and label envelopes. Dan was really good at his job. I love Dan telling me his stories about what was going on in his life. Dan was so knowledgeable about who was singing on the radio. Dan love to sing along. When Dan was in my car or at work I would sing along with him. Dan would always say to me Shawn you make laugh. But Dan was one that me laugh. Which I will miss his laughter. Dan will always have place in my heart. I will miss him dearly.

Dan was the heart of Pathways. I'm so glad I was able to bring him Burger King last Friday for lunch. He felt very proud when we had lunch together. I always said Dan should be in name that tune because he knew every song and the artist that sang it in 5 seconds flat. He is already very missed at Pathways and GEF. ❤️😇☹️ See you later Dano.

My memories of Danny a come from our family being neighbors with Danny's family on Williamson St. in Madison. Danny was my age and his older siblings would babysit us. When we moved to Columbus Danny, as well as his brother Larry came to visit a few times. I have never forgotten the Meyers family. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Lori (Dilley) Beattie

what our families say

Tiffany Foster went out of her way to fulfill all my requests, talked me through problems I was facing, and tried to make me feel as comfortable as possible when I was a wreck, totally crushed, and I thank her with all of my heart for that.

James S. | July 2020

The professional manner of the staff made a difficult time a little easier.

Lynda R. | July 2020

Services provided for both parents were perfect, on time, and no issues. Brenda is awesome and strong!

Skyler was absolutely amazing. She was so caring and helpful through this whole process. She even went above and beyond to meet with us in DeForest and even to make a stop at our home to drop off or pick up anything needed. While it was a small gesture, it was so helpful and greatly appreciated.
