Sun Prairie-

Dale E. Brown, age 66, of Sun Prairie, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at U.W. Hospital on Monday, March 6, 2017. He was born December 13, 1950 in Madison, one of eight children of Frank and Retta (Crouch) Brown. Dale is a 1969 graduate of Madison East High School and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration at U.W. Madison and City University. He retired from a career as a systems engineer with Verizon, formerly GTE, in Sun Prairie. Dale married his high school sweetheart, Kristine Hill on June 22, 1973.

Dale’s hobbies included home and cabin improvement projects, fishing and hunting at their beloved cabin on Island Lake, and dabbling in day trading. He treasured time spent with his family playing cards, (not very well) and hosting family gatherings and turning out the lights when it was time for everyone to go home.

Dale will be deeply missed by his wife, Kris; children, Lisa (Nic) Betow and Mike Brown; grandchildren, Ethan, Liam and Nora Betow; siblings, Terri (Larry) Klubertanz, Joe (Kim) Brown, Rhonda (Dan) Dunn, Carol (Tom) Pedretti, Kevin (Ginny Martin) Brown, Brenda (Tony) Mueller; and nieces, nephews and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Karen Peterson and his mother and father-in-law, Bud and Audrey Hill.

The family extends a special thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff at U.W. Hospital TLC for caring so well for Dale and his family.

A Memorial Service will be at 12 noon on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at RYAN FUNERAL SERVICE, 2418 N. Sherman Avenue. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 until the time of service.
