Obituaries

Madison-Coreen A. Esser, age 79, passed into God's loving arms on Sunday, April 12, 2015, at Meriter Hospital surrounded by her family and friends. She was born on March 13, 1936, in Madison, the daughter of Alton and Lorena (Powers) Huth. She attended Blessed Sacrament Grade School and graduated from Madison Edgewood High School in 1954. She maintained lifelong friendships and stayed active in the Edgewood alumni association throughout her life. Coreen married Paul J. Esser on January 19, 1957, and they were happily married for 58 years. She was a lifelong caregiver, caring for children in her home for decades. She cared for her father-in-law "Grandpa Henry", Fred and Fran, to make their final years comfortable and meaningful. Coreen was active as a volunteer throughout her life. She was a member of St. Dennis Catholic Church for 35 years. Coreen loved all her social events, but especially enjoyed her sisters' week, traveling all over the world with family, playing cards, board games, puzzles and her arts and crafts.

Coreen is survived by her husband, Paul J. Esser; her children, Patricia (Mike), Peter (Terri), John (Terri) and Erica; her grandchildren, Meghan (Raymond), Mark, Scott, Julia, Katie, Daniel, Becky, Zachary and Sean; her great-grandchildren, Coreena, Connor and Camryn; her siblings, Mary, Al (Jane) and Rosellen; many nieces and nephews and countless special friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Alton and Lorena; her in-laws Henry and Rose; her siblings, William (Vanja), Thomas and Karen; brothers-in-law, Alan, Don and Sonny; son-in-law, Greg.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 A.M. on Friday, April 17, 2015, at ST. DENNIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 413 Dempsey Road, Madison, with Fr. Randy Timmerman officiating. A visitation will be from 9 A.M. until the time of service. Luncheon to follow the service. Entombment will follow the luncheon at Resurrection Cemetery.
