MADISON/DEFOREST – Christopher “Chris” James Beld, age 34, of Madison/DeForest, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 30, 2023. He was born in Madison, WI on November 6, 1988, to James and Rebecca (Overly) Beld.
He attended LaFollette High School in Madison, WI in 2007, achieving his HSED through Madison College and Literacy Network in 2020, something he was extremely proud of. He was employed by Woodman’s East and Burger King, East Madison. He enjoyed time with his family, his nieces and nephews, and his many friends, playing video games, and enjoying good food, especially holiday meals. He was the gentlest of souls, with a smile for everyone he met. He was especially close to his niece, Emma Beld, who he called “his little banana,” and his nephew, Logan Beld. He spent a lot of time with his mother, taking short trips to Pepin and other area events, and with his niece, Emma, going to Peck’s and Burnie's Rock Shop. He did volunteer work with Circle Sanctuary Nature Preserve, of which he was a member, loved working in the yard and garden at home, and watching sports.
Chris is survived by his parents, Eric and Rebecca Lingenfelter, and James and Carol Beld, his brother, Cory Beld (Shaniah Peer), sisters, Jennifer Frye, Catherine Beld (Nathan Sadler), and Mary Lingenfelter, along with his nieces: Adsila Selph, Emma and Sophia Beld, nephews: Logan Beld and Rowan Sadler, his girlfriend/best friend: Arielle Blume, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He was predeceased by an older sibling, T. J. Beld, his aunt, Julie Beld, and his uncle, John Sarac. Also predeceasing him are his maternal grandparents: Harry and Dorothy Overly; paternal grandparents: William and Alyce Beld, and his fiancée: Brandi Stone. We would like to thank our death midwife: Rev. Sharon Stewart, of Circle Sanctuary, for her assistance in navigating this difficult journey and our special thanks to our officiant, Rev. Selena Fox, Senior Minister of Circle Sanctuary, for her unwavering support and assistance in handling all the things important to Chris and to his mother.
A private viewing will be held at Ryan Funeral Homes & Creation Services, 6924 Lake Road, DeForest, WI, on Monday, February 6, 2023, for the family from 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. General viewing: 2:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held from 4:00 p.m.- 5:15 p.m. with Rev. Selena Fox officiating. Immediately after, a reception for attendants will be at the VFW, Post 8483, City. Hwy. CV, Madison, WI at 5:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Chris’ memory can be made to Circle Sanctuary Nature Preserve @ Circle, P.O. Box 9, Barneveld, WI 53507
