Obituary For Carol Christine Wade

Carol Christine Wade went home to join her heavenly Father on September 23, 2023, after a long battle with cancer. We were blessed to have her at home in Madison, WI, for the past several years.

Christine was born on June 16, 1941 to Harry Conrad Seaburgh and Margareta Christina Holmgren in Bronx, New York. After Christine graduated from the High School of Music and Art in Manhatten NY, she went on to general studies at Uppsala College, where she met her husband to be, David Charles Wade. They were married on September 8, 1962. David and Christine were passionate about music and sang in choirs together, and they also enjoyed serving NYC’s homeless population with Christian mission New York City Relief.

Christine mainly enjoyed being mother to four children and an accomplished homemaker, and loved cooking, gardening, and sewing. She found fulfilling employment as a costumer designer and seamstress for the Eglevsky Ballet Company in New York City.

In their retirement years Christine and David owned and operated a jam and jelly business in upstate New York, selling in local markets and farmer’s markets. Christine created recipes and cooked, and David was in charge of sales. They also helped begin a new church, Grace Christian Fellowship, in Bainbridge NY.

Christine was predeceased by her parents, Harry and Rita, her sister Joan Elizabeth, and her husband David. She is survived by daughter Allison Kendall McConnell and her husband Bill, son Gregory Charles Wade, daughter Holly Kristina Wade and her husband Daniel, and son Jason Conrad Wade. Allison has a son, Zachary, married to Noelle, and they have a daughter, Nancy. Holly’s children are both married. Daughter Grace and her husband Michael have a son, Sterling, and triplet girls, Lavender, Ophelia, and Ambrose. Son Ryan is married to Rachel. Jason has two children, Jedidiah and Odeliah, and two step children, Phineas and Ariel. All together, Christine had four children, seven grandchildren, and, so far, five great grandchildren.

what our families say

Tiffany Foster went out of her way to fulfill all my requests, talked me through problems I was facing, and tried to make me feel as comfortable as possible when I was a wreck, totally crushed, and I thank her with all of my heart for that.

The professional manner of the staff made a difficult time a little easier.

Lynda R. | July 2020

Services provided for both parents were perfect, on time, and no issues. Brenda is awesome and strong!

Skyler was absolutely amazing. She was so caring and helpful through this whole process. She even went above and beyond to meet with us in DeForest and even to make a stop at our home to drop off or pick up anything needed. While it was a small gesture, it was so helpful and greatly appreciated.
