Madison – Brian C. Koenig, age 48, passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Meriter Hospital in Madison. He was born in Madison, WI on July 7, 1969, the son of Erwin and Candace (Daugherty) Koenig. Brian attended East High School and graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Madison with a degree in Business.

Brian was a great friend to all who knew him. He was a natural born salesman who loved sharing stories and laughter. Next to his love for family and friends, Brian loved the water. He loved the sun, and the sand, the ski and the sky. On a boat, waterskiing with friends was always his second home.

Brian is survived by his father, Erwin Koenig; brother, Jeffrey Koenig; sister, Melinda Chopra; brother-in-law, Karn Chopra; nieces, Jaya and Neena; nephew, Aakash; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and many good friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Candace Koenig; and both his maternal and paternal grandparents.

A special thank you to the nurses, doctors and staff at the Meriter ER and ICU for the care they provided to Brian.
